If you’re not sure how a particular pair of cargo pants or cargo shorts fits when purchasing online, please follow our Cargo Pants Five-Step Plan for Women to ensure you get the right Molecule Clothing fit.
To do so, we first have to measure the Waist. If you measure the waist of an item which fits you well and compare it to our Waist, you should get a correct fit. Keep in mind that our models have waist adjusters, as well as belt loops, allowing for a perfect fit (see product pages for details).

| Molecule Women's Sizing Guide | |
|---|---|
| WAIST: This usually matches similar clothes' waist sizing. It is approx. 2.5 cm less than double the flatbelt measurement. | |
| # NATURAL WAIST | We don't use this measurement at MOLECULE. |
| # BELTLINE | Measure yourself around your beltline. Choose clothes with a flatbelt of more than half that. |
| # HIP | Measured at the widest part, usually a few cm below the belt. |
| 1 FLATBELT | Measured flat across the top of the item. |
| 2 OUTSEAM | Total length of the pants. |
| 3 INSEAM | Measured from crotch to ankle. |
STEP 1 – Lay the cargo pants flat on the ground, front button facing up.
STEP 2 – Lightly stretch it out so that the button is about 5 cm below the rear top of the garment.
STEP 3 – Measure straight across the top of the garment (flatbelt).
STEP 4 – Calculate the Waist: flatbelt × 2, then subtract approx. 2.5 cm.
Example: Flatbelt = 40 cm → 40 × 2 = 80 cm → 80 – 2.5 = 77.5 cm.
When these measurements match your jeans, you have the correct fit.
